Passion for Sport is excited to be working with St Paul’s Church in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham city centre (B3 1QZ – click for Google Map) to host a special outreach exhibition during the Commonwealth Games entitled Sports Stories Spaces.
The special installation in the church and its courtyard from Thursday 28 July until Monday 8 August (10am-2pm week days) will feature the stories of eight Christian athletes during the event. Three are reigning Commonwealth champions, one is a competing netball captain and the other four are former athletes with great testimonies.

Tegla Loroupe - Former Commonwealth long distance runner from Kenya
Each athlete’s story will be able to be heard via a QR code link on display in the installation. There will also be visual creations of key moments from some of careers and personal journeys – this could be a recreation of a particular moment in their lives, a piece of art or collage, even an interactive space to fully immerse in the world of the athlete.
Each space should take around five minutes to view so visitors should perhaps allow 45 minutes to walk through the whole installation.
Some elements are planned to be staged outside, but may be moved inside if traditional British weather doesn’t cooperate!
The space will be manned by a team of church volunteers throughout its opening – they will be able to help engage with visitors and answer any questions they may have.
Thanks to audio transcription, it will also be suitable for visitors who require translation into French.
